Electric ramp or lifting platform: what is the difference?
Customers sometimes use “electric ramp” to mean a device that raises a wheelchair user between levels. The correct equipment type depends on the route: it may be a vertical lifting platform or an inclined stair platform. A conventional folding ramp is unfolded manually to create a sloping route; it does not raise the user with a powered drive. A lift is selected according to the route geometry and site conditions.
