2. Agree the structure and supports

Platform dimensions are selected for the load and installation location. A large platform may require an opposing support column or a double-column configuration; this is determined by the load, dimensions and engineering calculation. The supporting arrangement, guides, fixings, number of supports and drive units are agreed separately. Installation within a shaft or without a shaft is selected according to the site and the required doors and guarding. Structure, shaft or guarding, and drive are different features; the term “cantilever” alone does not describe the complete supporting arrangement.

3. Select a compatible drive

The drive is assessed after the structure, load and operating conditions have been defined. The catalogue includes hydraulic and chain-driven goods lifts and shaft models with an electric drive. If considering a hoist configuration, the hoist type, including any wire-rope electromechanical configuration, and its compatibility with the structure must be clarified separately. Not every combination of drive, capacity, height and platform is permissible.

Unsure which drive you need? Ask ASPAR: “I do not know; please select the drive.” A consultant will clarify the task. If several configurations are suitable, ask for a comparison of their quotations and equipment.

4. Send the parameters for a quotation

The lifting height is specified for your site. For a non-standard height, we select the structure and drive according to the technical brief and engineering calculation. The standard configurations shown do not describe every possible project solution; the permissible parameters of the particular unit must be confirmed.

Total load weight including containers, a trolley and other equipment.
Load dimensions and required platform dimensions.
Travel height, level elevations and number of stops.
Loading and unloading method and entry directions.
Supporting structure, supports, guides and fixing arrangement.
A compatible drive for the selected structure and load.
Available electrical supply and connection requirements.
Installation area: shaft or open space, openings and the building’s supporting structures.
Installation and operating conditions, including indoor or outdoor placement.
Operating schedule and expected usage intensity.
Doors, guarding, controls and access at every stop.
