Service Lift or Goods Lift: Which Fits the Task?
A service lift is assessed for compact movement of defined loads between levels, where the loading opening and usable space are key. A goods lift covers a broader range of load-handling tasks and configurations. The choice should not be based only on the name or rated load.
What to compare
| Criterion | Service lift | Goods lift |
|---|---|---|
| Load | Defined type and dimensions | A wider range of scenarios depending on the model |
| Loading | Opening size and loading convenience are central | Platform, doors, loading directions and levels are central |
| Route | Movement between agreed stops | Movement between levels in the selected configuration |
| Selection | Based on the actual load and model | Based on the task, load, height, platform and site |
Verified ASPAR model data
The SD 300 model is rated up to 300 kg, with a lift height up to 15 m and up to six stops. The SL 500 is rated up to 500 kg, with a lift height up to 20 m and up to six stops. These values apply to the named models, not to every service lift.
When to assess a goods lift
If the load or loading method requires a different platform, doors, loading direction, height or structure, ASPAR assesses the goods-lift category. A custom engineering solution may be required for a non-standard task.
Comparison inputs
- load type, weight and dimensions, including its container;
- lift height and number of stops;
- preferred loading-opening size;
- loading directions at each level;
- available space, photographs or drawings;
- available power supply.
Verified example
In Kyiv, ASPAR delivered a 500 kg lift with a 3100 mm lift height, 2000 mm platform projection, electromechanical rope drive and a special frame. The Fact Register does not confirm the building type, so the case is not presented as a HoReCa project.
Quotation and next step
No numerical price is published without an approved base configuration. Send the load description, dimensions, travel height and photographs of the installation area. ASPAR will compare the service-lift and goods-lift categories.
