Lifting Equipment Modernization

ASPAR services
Engineering · Manufacturing · Service

ASPAR modernizes its own and third-party lifting equipment after a technical inspection and assessment of whether an upgrade is reasonable. Potential work may cover the drive, controls, automation, electrical systems, safety elements, doors, enclosures, platform and selected parts of the metal structure. When replacement is technically more appropriate, ASPAR may recommend new equipment.

When to submit a request

A request is appropriate when existing equipment no longer meets the operating task, relies on obsolete or unavailable components, or requires a functional change. These conditions justify an assessment, but they do not guarantee that modernization will be technically reasonable.

How the decision is made

  1. We perform a technical inspection.
  2. We assess the equipment condition and required outcome.
  3. We determine whether modernization is technically and economically reasonable.
  4. We agree an upgrade scope or recommend equipment replacement.
  5. We complete the agreed upgrade.
  6. We verify equipment operation.

What may be modernized

Where technically applicable to the specific equipment, the agreed scope may cover:

  • the drive;
  • the control system;
  • automation;
  • electrical systems;
  • safety elements;
  • doors and enclosures;
  • the platform;
  • selected metal-structure elements;
  • replacement of obsolete components;
  • adaptation to new operating tasks.

What is determined during technical assessment

During technical assessment, ASPAR evaluates equipment condition, the possibility of updating individual components, solution compatibility and whether modernization is more appropriate than replacement.

Modernization or a new solution

If the existing equipment can reasonably be upgraded, a modernization scope is prepared. If the task requires new custom ASPAR equipment, the request moves to engineering development.

What affects the cost

Cost is determined after assessing the equipment, agreeing the work scope and reviewing site conditions. Information about the equipment and upgrade task is needed for a quotation.

FAQ

01

Can equipment made by another manufacturer be modernized?

Yes, when ASPAR confirms technical feasibility and value after an inspection. Third-party manufacture does not by itself exclude modernization.

02

Is modernization always less expensive than replacement?

That depends on equipment condition and the required scope of work. The comparison is made after a technical assessment.

03

Can automation be included in modernization?

Automation and controls may be included when technically applicable and part of the agreed scope.

Need an assessment of existing equipment?

Send the model, photos, documents and required outcome. ASPAR will confirm whether it can prepare a modernization option.
